Dr. Cozette R. Garrett

Cozette R. Garrett is an ordained Disciples of Christ minister who served as the Senior Pastor of Community of Faith Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Memphis, Tennessee for seven years. She is also the Program Director of the Sustaining Pastoral Excellence Program which is a ministry of Memphis Theological Seminary.Dr. Garrett received an earned Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary at Dayton, Ohio and a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary. Her Bachelor of Arts degree was received from University of Memphis. At seminary graduation, Rev. Garrett was cited as the Outstanding African American Student in her class and received the Alston Award. In 1996, Memphis Theological presented her with the Outstanding African American Alumnae Award.She is a 1988 graduate of Leadership Memphis.Dr. Garrett is known as a lively and informative preacher, workshop leader and speaker who teaches and trains in a variety of settings. Her concern for the health and wholeness of people is a common thread that runs throughout her presentations and sermons.She is the wife of Solomon M. Garrett, Jr. who is Manager of Customer Service for the Memphis and Shelby County Airport Authority and the mother of two young adult daughters, Dana and Marloe.
