Rev. Benita Livingston

Reverend Benita Livingston is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and has the Ecclesiastical endorsement by the A.M.E. Church necessary to be a Veterans Affairs Chaplain.  She has over 15 years experience in ministry.  She completed her B.S. in Communication from Arkansas State University and worked in various radio and TV stations in Arkansas and Tennessee.  She received her Master of Divinity, Cum Laude, from Memphis Theological Seminary where she also received the Alston Award for most outstanding African-American female student and is currently working on her Doctor of Ministry.   

Benita completed her Clinical Pastoral Education Residency at the VA Medical Center where she received the Patterson Award for Excellence in Pastoral Care.  She has also worked as an On-Call Chaplain at the Regional Medical Center (The Med), a Level 1 Trauma Center.  Along with her responsibilities at the VA Medical Center she also has received a Certificate of Completion as a Healing Touch Practitioner.  

She is a member of the National Association of Veteran Affairs Chaplains, and a member of the A.M.E Chaplains Association. She also serves as Pastoral Counselor at St. Andrew A.M.E. Church.  

She feels her mission is to bring healing and wholeness to others through the Word of God, prayer, pastoral counseling, healing touch and other complementary therapies.  

She is the wife of Keidric and the mother of three adult children (Aisha, Nonjala, and Justin) and step-mom of Dorian.
